New Halloween Chocolate Treats to Discover in 2026
Halloween chocolate is getting a playful makeover in 2026. Familiar favourites are returning in pumpkins, skulls and other seasonal shapes, while confectionery companies experiment with new flavours, textures and limited-edition presentations.
The season is also starting earlier. Mars reports that 57 per cent of U.S. adults surveyed consider Halloween a full season rather than a single day, helping explain why seasonal treats began appearing well before October.
For chocolate lovers, that means there is considerably more to discover than the traditional trick-or-treat assortment. Here are some of the notable chocolate treats appearing for Halloween 2026.
TWIX Gets a Spooky New Shape
One of the most noticeable additions from Mars is TWIX Skulls, which transforms the familiar combination of chocolate, caramel and cookie into a Halloween skull shape. Both single and share-size formats are part of the 2026 lineup.
SNICKERS Fun Size Pumpkins are another new addition, expanding the brand’s existing seasonal pumpkin-shaped range. Mars is also bringing back TWIX and SNICKERS Ghoulish Green products for the season.
The emphasis on shapes is an easy way for major brands to create something seasonal without completely reinventing familiar chocolate flavours.
M&M’S Brings Pumpkin Pie Back
Pumpkin spice may dominate autumn beverages, but chocolate has increasingly joined the seasonal flavour trend.
Mars is returning M&M’S Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Pie for Halloween 2026, along with Halloween colour blends available in milk chocolate, peanut and peanut butter varieties. A new M&M’S Fun Size Minis variety mix combines milk chocolate and peanut butter candies.
While these products remain recognisably M&M’S, their flavours, colours and packaging give the familiar candies a distinctly autumn identity.
Hershey Expands Its Halloween Collection
Hershey has also built a substantial 2026 Halloween portfolio. The company announced its seasonal collection on August 13, continuing what it calls “Hersheyween” — a strategy that increasingly treats Halloween as an extended season rather than simply October 31.
The scale is significant. Hershey says nearly 100 million pounds of Halloween chocolate and sweets are produced and moved through its supply chain for the season.
That makes seasonal chocolate far more than novelty packaging. Halloween has become an important period for chocolate production, merchandising and new-product experimentation.
Ghirardelli’s Jack O’Lanterns Return
Not everything worth discovering is brand new.
Ghirardelli Jack O’Lantern chocolates have returned for 2026, turning premium milk chocolate into small pumpkin-shaped treats. The seasonal collection includes varieties such as Milk Chocolate Caramel Apple Jack O’Lanterns and assorted Jack O’Lantern chocolates.
They occupy a slightly different place in the Halloween market from traditional trick-or-treat minis. The presentation makes them suitable for candy bowls, entertaining, autumn gifts and seasonal desserts.
Lindt Goes from Pumpkin to Pumpkin Spice
Canadian chocolate shoppers also have plenty of seasonal choices from Lindt.
The company’s current Canadian Halloween collection includes LINDOR Pumpkin Milk Chocolate Truffles and LINDOR Pumpkin Spice Milk Chocolate Truffles, alongside Halloween assortments and Ghost & Pumpkin LINDOR truffle bags.
It is another example of chocolate makers extending autumn flavours beyond October 31. Pumpkin and pumpkin spice work equally well for Thanksgiving entertaining, fall gifting and Halloween.
Texture Is Becoming Part of the Treat
One of 2026’s more interesting Halloween developments isn’t chocolate at all — but it says something important about where confectionery is heading.
Mars is introducing SKITTLES POP’d Creepy Crunch, a freeze-dried version with a light, crunchy texture. The company’s consumer research found that 71 per cent of surveyed U.S. adults wanted texture in their treats, while nearly 60 per cent were interested in more extreme flavours.
Chocolate manufacturers are responding to many of the same consumer interests through layered fillings, crunchy inclusions, unusual flavour combinations and contrasting textures.
Halloween Is Becoming a Chocolate Season
The biggest discovery for 2026 may therefore be bigger than any individual candy.
Halloween has evolved into an extended retail and entertaining season. Limited editions can appear during summer, pumpkin flavours overlap with Thanksgiving, and Halloween products now serve everything from trick-or-treating to parties, movie nights and seasonal gifting.
For chocolate lovers, that creates more opportunities to try something beyond the traditional miniature chocolate bar.
Some treats will disappear when Halloween is over. Others may provide an early glimpse at flavours, formats and ideas that chocolate makers carry into future collections.
And that is half the fun of Chocolate Discoveries: finding out what’s new before the wrappers disappear.
