ChocoFest 2027 Brings the Celebration to Two Alberta Cities

Chocolate lovers in Alberta will have twice the opportunity to indulge in 2027. ChocoFest is expanding to two cities, with festivals scheduled for Edmonton in April and Calgary in May.

The Canadian chocolate tasting festival brings together chocolate makers, chocolatiers, bakeries and confectioners for two-day celebrations devoted to tasting, discovery and meeting the people behind the products.

The expansion represents an important milestone for ChocoFest. After launching in Alberta in 2025 and growing its audience in 2026, the festival is moving its Edmonton-area event into the city while also introducing its first Calgary edition.

The first stop on the 2027 calendar will be the Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre, located at 118 Kingsway Avenue in Edmonton.

ChocoFest Edmonton takes place Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, 2027. The new venue offers an indoor festival environment with on-site accommodations and free parking for ChocoFest visitors.

Guests can explore chocolates and confections from participating exhibitors while discovering different approaches to chocolate making. The festival is designed to introduce consumers to both established businesses and smaller artisan producers.

ChocoFest Calgary — May 14–15, 2027

One month later, ChocoFest heads south for its Calgary debut.

ChocoFest Calgary takes place Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15, 2027, at the Red & White Club at McMahon Stadium, 1833 Crowchild Trail NW.

The Calgary expansion brings the ChocoFest format to a new audience while giving participating chocolate businesses another opportunity to connect directly with consumers. Edmonton and Calgary will offer the same core festival experience.

Discover the Makers Behind the Chocolate

ChocoFest is built around tasting, but the experience goes beyond sampling sweets. Visitors can meet the people producing the chocolates and learn more about ingredients, techniques and the journey from cacao bean to finished confection.

The festival showcases handcrafted bonbons, bean-to-bar chocolate, baked goods, beverages, desserts and specialty treats. Educational demonstrations and presentations provide another opportunity to learn about chocolate and the work involved in producing it.

The event has also become an increasingly important marketplace for participating businesses. ChocoFest reports that its 2026 festival attracted more than 2,500 attendees, served 19,720 samples and generated $24,650 in Taste Ticket payments to participating vendors.

How ChocoFest Taste Tickets Work

ChocoFest uses a digital Taste Ticket system for samples. Admission and Taste Tickets are purchased separately.

Visitors receive a QR code that participating exhibitors scan when a sample is selected. Each sample requires one Taste Ticket, creating a standardized system while compensating participating makers for the products they serve.

Guests can purchase as many or as few samples as they wish, making it possible to explore unfamiliar makers and compare different styles of chocolate throughout the visit.

Tickets and Festival Sessions

Tickets for ChocoFest 2027 go on sale December 1, 2026. Both cities will use timed admission sessions designed to manage attendance and provide visitors with room to explore exhibitors.

Friday programming includes VIP and senior sessions followed by adults-only sessions for visitors aged 16 and older. Saturday begins with VIP and senior sessions before opening for general admission. Children aged 12 and younger may attend free with a ticketed adult on Saturday, although they still require a ticket.

VIP admission includes Taste Tickets, while general admission visitors can purchase Taste Ticket bundles separately.

With Edmonton and Calgary both joining the 2027 calendar, ChocoFest is evolving from a single Alberta event into a broader celebration of Western Canada’s chocolate community. For visitors, that means more opportunities to discover new makers, explore unfamiliar flavours and experience Canadian chocolate firsthand.
